Musical Theater Classes

Musical Theater Level 1 (Elementary School students)

This class, co-taught by director Pam Kinter and choreographer Amy Smith, develops the skills necessary for students to excel onstage. Weekly classes will see how the components of musical theater - acting, dance, and music - work together to create fun characters and plots. Sutdents will work on character development, voice projection, strength and coordination, and learning how to sing and dance at the same time. Some classes will be focused on improvisation to help students build their imaginations and creativity. All students will perform in the Fall Cabaret.

Musical Theater Level 2 (Middle School/High School students)

This class, taught by director Pam Kinter, continues to develop skills any student will need for successful auditions and performances. Weekly classes will explore monologues, solos, choreography, character development, and improvisation. Students will also learn the fundamentals of developing a script, creating choreography, and the technical aspects of theater (theater vocabulary, lighting design, set design, costumes, etc.) Students will perform in the Fall Cabaret.

Junior Musical Production (K-6th graders)

This class will work on a fall/winter musical. Students will learn blocking, choreography, and music leading up to a final performance weekend January 19th and 20th. Extra weekend rehearsals will be required for grades 2nd-6th. All students welcome!

Senior Musical Production (7th-12th graders)

This class will perform a fall/winter musical. Students will work on character development, advanced choreography, and music leading up to a final performance weekend February 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Extra Saturday rehearsals will be required. All students welcome!
