Stagelights Musical Productions

Throughout the year, Stagelights produces many musical productions in three separate age-groups: Senior Division, Junior Division, and Rising Stars Division. Our students learn the importance of working together as an ensemble, bringing a story to life, and developing vibrant, multi-dimensional characters.

Adapted from the three-time-Tony-nominated Broadway hit comes A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS. Based on Arnold Lobel's well-loved books, the jazzy, upbeat score bubbles with melody. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.

This whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog, and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. Throughout the year, two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.

Music, dance, laughs and the age-old tale of boy meets girl… Anything Goes is delightful, delicious and de-lovely. This version, based on the 1987 Lincoln Center production at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, features a revised script, updated in light of contemporary sensibilities. This 2022 Revision has twice as much dance music as the 1962 version and includes the hits “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” “Friendship,” “It’s De-Lovely” and the title song, along with “Easy to Love,” “Goodbye, Little Dream, Goodbye” and “Buddie, Beware.” Anything Goes premiered on Broadway on November 21, 1934 at the Alvin Theatre, where it ran for 420 performances, becoming the fourth longest-running musical of the 1930s. A revised version of the show opened off-Broadway at the Orpheum Theatre on May 15, 1962, starring Eileen Rodgers as Reno Sweeney and Hal Linden as Billy Crocker. In 1987, Lincoln Center Theater produced an updated version of the show. Opening at Broadway’s Vivian Beaumont Theater on October 19, 1987, the show starred Patti LuPone, Howard McGillin and Bill McCutcheon, won the Tony Award for Best Revival, and played for 784 performances.
In 2011, the Beaumont version was revived at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Broadway, starring Sutton Foster and Joel Grey. Once again, Anything Goes won the Tony for Best Musical Revival, and the production ran for 521 performances.
